Hallo, Thanks for the info, But I am just a user and have no skills in
getting technical about reporting a bug. I leave that up to you guys to
sort out. I just reported what I found or what happened. It should be
easy for you to find the problem related to webcamera drivers and what
have you.

Thanks
John

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.  It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general.  It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it.  You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/902330/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message.  I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Title:
In 11.10 the camera driver changes affect cheese software

Status in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I use cheese as security monitoring at home with some Logitech cameras
like PRO 9000. After upgrading to 11.10, the night vision quality of
the cameras fell to nearly Zero with lack of resolution and
brightness. I contacted Cheese people and they said nothing in their
code had changed, so it must be Ubuntu code problem

I have now downgraded to 11.4 and the problem is fixed. So it appears
that changes in the 11.10 camera codec have impacted on the cameras
used in Cheese. Could someone please revert the camera code back to
11.4 sothat I can upgrade to 11.10 again.

  Thanks Guys and Gals.

  John
