Public bug reported:

I tried installing Ubuntu 10.10 & Suse 11.4 but the fan does not
engaged once it gets passed the bios. As a result it overheats and turns
off. I tried Ubuntu 8.10 and observed the fan keeps working. I assume
then there is a bug in the latest kernels as everything also works fine
in Windows XP.

I don't want to have to chuck my acer out and I definitely do NOT want
to resort to Windows. Can some one help me? I would appreciate an email
on this matter
