Checked alsamixer to see if that was weird at all. Master volume doesn't go beyond 0 until after the halfway point. After that, the slider makes the audio very loud with very little movement of the bar. Pressing the volume keys on my keyboard makes a massive difference in the audio; one click will bring it from too low to too loud.
It seems that the indicator is incorrect. See attachment for short animation. ** Attachment added: "Animated gif of the slider bar and alsamixer." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/898961/+attachment/2620065/+files/slider.gif -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/898961 Title: [p7-1038, Realtek ALC888-VD, Orange SPDIF Out, Rear] volume slider problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/898961/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
