I'm running Linux Mint 12 final release which is based on Ubuntu 11.10 and I have the same problem using Evolution 3.2.1 (the last version available). I opened a bug to Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=665292) and I received the below answer from Andre Klapper, that the distribution is responsible for not offering this functionality. ----------------------------------------------------- "If the option to import Outlook personal folders (.pst files) is not available under File ▸ Import ▸ Import single file ▸ File type, your distribution might have not enabled this functionality." http://library.gnome.org/users/evolution/3.2/import-apps-outlook.html.en -----------------------------------------------------
The Ubuntu team should fix this bug by adding it to the standard evolution-plugins packet as soon as possible because there are a lot of users migrating from Windows to Ubuntu and they need this functionality. It will be useful maybe to update the Evolution packages to the latest stable 3.2.2. Upon my opinion this functionality is a must and it should be always present as a standard option if Ubuntu want to gain more supporters migrating from Windows to Ubuntu, because Evolution is the best PIM on Linux competing to MS Outlook. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #665292 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=665292 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/893420 Title: PST import no longer available after update to Oneiric To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/893420/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
