At my PC there is no local.conf file in /etc/modprobe.d/. There are some other files but mostly blacklist*.conf files. I searched my PC with 'locate' but there is no 'local.conf' at all..
I tried to add the file with the same text in it: options drm_kms_helper poll=N and rebooted.
