Still occurs in ubuntu 11.10. To reproduce, open a 5000 line text file in gedit, maximize, and then try alternating between typing text and scrolling to distant parts of the file. Because you have to move the mouse precisely to the tiny highlit area of the scrollbar, it's hard to cause the thumb to become visible. People who are used to just moving the mouse to one end of the scrollbar and holding down the mouse to scroll are SOL.
I see the demo video of this feature at http://design.canonical.com/2011/03/introducing-overlay-scrollbars-in-unity/ never used a really tall document with a very small highlit thumb, so the problem wasn't evident there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/797244 Title: Thumb does not appear when the pointer is in proximity to the scrollbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/overlay-scrollbar/+bug/797244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
