I think I experience this and synclient TouchpadOff=0 fixes this for me. I am not sure whether it was mentioned but trackpad and a external bluetooth mouse work fine after the touchpad freezes. Does it work for other the same. I.e. touchpad freezes and mouse/trackpad continous to work?
