I have a CIFS share auto-mounted in fstab.

I had the shutdown failure problem on 11.04 and found dismounting the
CIFS share before shutting down did fix it.

On 11.10 I found that dismounting the share doesn't solve it. The only
way I have been able to solve is by uninstalling the network-manager.

I am using wired ethernet.
