Public bug reported:

I try to install gnome-shell in ubuntu 11.10 64 bits. I do this steps.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

Then I restart. But when I enter, don't see gnome-shell only seen gnome
clasic. I check in Software Center and is installed correctly.

When i put gnome-shell --replace

I have this error
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

(gnome-shell:13296): Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: The
OpenGL version could not be determined
Window manager error: Unable to initialize Clutter.

But my graphic card is instaled correctly with nvidia drivers.

** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
