I have an HP dv6 1350us laptop, which is a couple years old. I had
originally installed Ubuntu 11.04 as a fresh install, and then upgraded
to 11.10 via going to a dev branch originally and updating periodically.
When we got near the RTM release date, this started happening to me as
well and hasn't gone away. I suspect it has something to do with ACPI
and here is why: if the laptop is unplugged and is running off the
battery, it has never happened to me. If the laptop AC adapter is
plugged in, it happens most of the time.
