Testing the new ALSA drivers seems to be working fine: speakers are muted, (alsamixer still reports speakers have sound on, at 100%), but no sound comes from the speakers. I'll keep testing to see if I can get the bug to reappear -- should I apport-collect again if I can recreate it?
Still haven't gotten my USB drives in the mail, so not able to test oneiric. Will report results when I do.
