Hi, HPLIP release is always uploaded at http://hplipopensource.com/hplip- web/gethplip.html. HPLIP version present in the distribution repo might not be the latest one as well as it might not have all the dependencies installed. So it is recomended to install HPLIP from this link.
However the problem above seems to be due to different locale which is not yet fully supported by HPLIP. PLease change the locale to english as well as use only english strings in device settings and then try again.
