Public bug reported: From [http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=84a14fab8f930ef1855444ae4e9e3e14ee008328] (and the discussion on [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinerama] and [http://gentoohaven.com/2010/04/13/xinerama-composite/])I would guess that COMPOSITE and XINERAMA/PANORAMIX no longer conflict.
However, I'm using XINERAMA on oneiric/11.10 on a Radeon HD 5450 (fglrx enabled) and 'xdpyinfo' does _not_ report the COMPOSITE extension. As a consequence desktop effects in KDE do not work and the KDE system settings also report that 'The needed x-extensions (XComposite and XDamage) are not available'. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/888909 Title: COMPOSITE and XINERAMA/PANORAMIX To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/888909/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
