Can you please unload the usblp kernel module again ("rmmod usblp") and
then try the new CUPS package in my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~till-
kamppeter/+archive/ppa)? Simply follow the instructions under "Adding
this PPA to your system" and then update your system. Thanks. Please
