Hi, Thanks for the prompt help. I confirm that after 'sudo swapoff -a' the 
problem is gone.
System info shows memory size 741MB. I uncovered the PC and it has 
2X256MB+2X128MB.
So, running Ubuntu with a lower swap size might help until there is a final 
solution for this?
