Thanks for your bug report. I'll target this to alsa-driver for now so we can 
get an apport hook, but this may be suited to pulseaudio or possibly the kernel 
as well. In any case, could you please run the following command in a terminal 
on your laptop and then change the status of this bug back to new:
apport-collect 887913

That will add some more system information and log files to your report
so that someone more familiar with debugging sound issues can diagnose
the problem. Thanks in advance.
