I've got the same error message and Alsa cannot find my emu 1212m pci express card. There is a bug when the module is loaded: EMU10K1_Audigy 0000:06:04.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 Audigy2 value: Special config. AC'97 0 does not respond - RESET AC'97 0 access is not valid [0x0], removing mixer. EMU10K1_Audigy 0000:06:04.0: PCI INT A disabled EMU10K1_Audigy: probe of 0000:06:04.0 failed with error -5 The device is not created and alsa cannot find it!
