Public bug reported:

I used to have both the sun-java6 and openjdk packages installed.
However, this caused problems for ant building particular packages.
Further investigation showed that the reason was that update-java-
alternatives was not able to switch the default JVM to use because a
single change had been made to javac via update-alternatives.
