nemid is a client for installing the so-called NemID certificate. NemID is a mandatory authentication service for accessing public web sites in Denmark. It also includes a certificate that you can use to sign or encrypt messages. Linux support is rather poor and requires a large number of manual steps, as well as manually overwriting system files. The nemid package automates several of the steps and avoids overwriting system files.
