I believe the "post-release" version of fglrx is the package called "fglrx-updates" in Ubuntu 11.10.
In Ubuntu 11.10 presently, fglrx is version 2:8.881-0ubuntu4 fglrx-updates is version 2:8.881-0ubuntu6 So you're unlikely to see any difference right now.
