Mervyn Mitchell wrote Yes they are the same - now I have changed it in the Firefox print set up for CUPS The paper in the printer is A4 The Ubuntu test page for the printer prints OK in A4 The page preview in Firefox when set to portrait appears to be correct on the screen, it then tries to print landscape with the top of the page missing. When the obvious thing is done of setting the page to landscape, the page then prints a landscape view on a portrait paper which results in the right-hand side of the page as viewed not printing.( the print preview of course looks like landscape correctly on a landscape page) I am using the latest HP hplip-1.7.4a ( HP-Deskjet_5150-hpijis.ppd) I upgraded as the previous ppd also gave the same or very similar difficulties regards Mervyn Mitchell
