Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vmware-player
After installing the package (1.0.2-2 on feisty), starting vmplayer fails with: /usr/lib/vmware-player/bin/vmplayer: /usr/lib/vmware- player/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2) I saw mentioned on the net that 'VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force vmplayer' could be used to overcome this problem, but that fails, with: ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/vmware-player/lib/libgnomecanvasmm-2.6.so.1/libgnomecanvasmm-2.6.so.1' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
