The mouse pointer is invisible everywhere on screen. Sometimes, when the region it's in requires a different pointer than the default arrow (pointing finger, I-beam, etc), it will be visible, and on-screen objects always react to the presence of the mouse pointer, even when it can't be seen.
I'm really not sure in what way I could make it more clear (pardon the pun) that the mouse pointer has disappeared ever since I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10. I could better understand your criticism & better help you understand the issue I'm reporting if you could (for lack of a better term) elaborate and clarify what it is that's unclear or in need of elaboration? It's frustrating not knowing what information you seek from me regarding this issue, and doubly frustrating that every attempt at using the mouse to navigate within this website or within the windowed environment is a matter of educated guesswork, since I can't see where I'm pointing the mouse. To my mind, describing the mouse pointer as invisible captures the elements of the problem in one word. It's not that it doesn't exist, for, like the invisible man, it still interacts with its surroundings, but, also like the invisible man, it can no longer be seen. The only time it becomes visible is when the mouse pointer changes from the arrow to another form. I want to help resolve this issue, but I can't give responsive answers without specific questions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882841 Title: Mouse pointer becomes invisible in most windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/882841/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
