This also affects me. It is the Dell Mini 10 netbook (Inspiron 1010). Tried alternate install also, and it fails before it finishes installing. Its curious that this doesn't work, because at one time dell offered this netbook with ubuntu on it. Any info needed let me know, or please post in the forum mentioned above.
