What version of Gaim is in Edgy? If it's SVN from the past week or two then this bug has probably been fixed. It looks like it's related to when we enabled threads to work around some problems when using d-bus and also the newer, thread-using version of gnome-vfs. But we have removed the thread usage now that d-bus 0.92 fixes the problem in a better way.
