Thanks guys. I didn't realise the versions all had to be in sync. After reinstalling saslauthd 2.1.23 i had to edit /etc/default/saslauthd and change my OPTIONS parameter to get everything working again.
In my case I had set my instance up according to http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-users-and-domains-with-postfix- ubuntu-7.10-p3nwhich shows how long this has been working for; Ubuntu 7.10 was that Hoary or Gutsy? Anywiay I had to reset the OPTIONS parameter of /etc/default/saslauthd to; OPTIONS="-c -m /var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd -r" Thanks again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/875440 Title: Cannot authenticate with saslauthd and mysql To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cyrus-sasl2/+bug/875440/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
