Definitive proof does not exist.
 
But I had problems with development and one release version of one release on 
several machines. I have not had similar problems that I can recall with any of 
the machines or with other versions of Ku/Ubuntu before or since. I routinely 
compared the MD5 of the download and of the burned CD, that is, at each step of 
the way.
 
This is why I am sceptical that one bad CD drive was responsible.
