Public bug reported:

Had the same issue with 11.04. Ended up completely disabling the card on
startup in order to get my notebook to actually run.

Here are the details from 11.04. Can someone please advise if I can
update to 11.10 (I want to do a fresh install) and have my Ethernet card
work?
