Public bug reported: My Fujitsu-siemens laptop don't have USB 2.0 that's why I use the HDD through this card. All the stuff work great under WinXp (I have dual-boot) Also if I use it from the motherboard's usb 1.1 port, then no problems occour. Although the HDD is rekognized and automounted well through the adapter, while I use it (copy files, view pictures etc.) the programs trying to reach data will freeze time to time.
This bug seems to be related to the NEC chipset of the adapter, as the following similarities suggests: Bug #234084 and http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1585855.html ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: linux-image-3.0.0-12-generic 3.0.0-12.20 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic i686 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
