This I believe is because the underlying player engines don't have the
AMR stubs enabled.

I compiled my own version of ffmpeg to include amr codecs and then
mplayer to just include the amr stub and everything works now.

Even if amr is not enabled in ffmeg (ubuntu, kubuntu) due to legal
reasons, it _should_ be enabled in stub form in xine, mplayer, vlc, etc.
so that adding real amr support is simply a matter of recompiling the
ffmeg package. Currently, all of them require to be recompiled.

Also, if possible amr support should be added to restricted formats
support for one-click installation.
