I encountered it too with Ubuntu Oneiric with unity-2D, unity-3D, Gnome and Xfce4 with gnome-terminal, xfce4-terminal and cairo-dock. xterm is not concerned by this bug. ==Description== Cairo-dock, gnome-terminal and xfce4-terminal are always drawn on top (foreground) even if not selected when xrandr and compositing are activated (tested with metacity, mutter and xfwm4). My GPU is an Intel i915. ==Example== 1) I set up a dual monitor configuration with xrandr (expended desktop, no bug in clone mode) 2) I launch firefox under xfce/gnome/unity. 3) I launch xfce4-terminal/gnome-terminal and put it "above" the google search bar in Firefox. 4) I focus on Firefox. Result: the *-terminal is still drawn at the top but not accessible anymore: when I click on the drawn terminal, Firefox is responding (I can fill the google search bar). The same behaviour was observed with cairo-dock. ==Workarounds== - Disable compositing (not nice with cairo-docks) - Disable xrandr or set it in "clone" mode - Stop using *-terminal (xterm is ok) and cairo-dock. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/865031 Title: Gnome Terminal Always on top when using Dual Monitor not mirror To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/865031/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
