I was suffering from the same problem and I found a workaround on this

It seemed quite logical, however, what I noticed was if I started amd
control centre from the dash, it would always crash if I pressed "apply"
but if you type in your terminal: gksudo amdcccle (yes three c's not,
two like in the blogpost) then it does allow you to apply the changes
and from now on I don't have any problems.

I'm using ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card. I had the same
issues with beta 1 and 2, now with clean install of the final release,
the problem continues
