I have tested with upstream release linux-
image-3.1.0-0301rc9-generic_3.1.0-0301rc9.201110050905_amd64.deb, and
this kernel does not seem to have this bug.

So, looks like this issue is only with the current Ubuntu kernel or
patches.

** Description changed:

Internet stops working when connected to wifi. Requires me to try to
reconnect, but it keeps trying to connect to wifi and never connects.
Then it asks for password, but does not connect even after submitting
the right password. Resetting the modem allows one to re-connect but it
again stops after some time. Wifi worked correctly in natty but problem
occurs since upgrade to oneric. Similar problem occured in natty when i
started using the backports for wifi. Reverting the backports fixed the
issue in natty, but no solution seems possible in oneric.
