Public bug reported: On a machine with a Radeon 5500, on Oneiric, booted with the Free Software driver, switching to the proprietary driver works. Removing it (with jockey), in order to switch back, however, results in a dangling symlink in /etc/ld.so.conf.d/, and subsequently everything that tries to use GLX fails with "glxinfo: error while loading shared libraries: libatiuki.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". This machine has been updated through multiple versions of Ubuntu, and admittedly several releases ago a non-packaged version of fglrx was installed, but since cleaned off. Ubuntu and jockey's facilities for switching between drivers has been working fine since then, until the system was upgraded to Oneiric.
