Hello, I thought I'd bump this as it's still vary annoying. What bothers me most about this is that there is some process that is obviously hammering the optical drive with requests. This might not disrupt throughput to/from the drive, but it can't be good for it.
I'd like to test with a patched kernel that would hopefully print the PID and/or name of the application responsible. Is there anyone who could write such a patch? Another note is that only the first opdrive is effected, the second on my system operates without issue. I'd like to be able to have the drive auto-close, so disabling this nice feature is not an option for me... even if it where to work around this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283316 Title: CD-ROM tray closes automatically after eject To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/283316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
