As a side note, I have noticed that, for example, Thunderbird seems to have gone stale by just sitting minimized in the launcher. When clicking on it, nothing happens. The only way to reactivate it is by alt-tabbing a few times or right clicking and opening a task, e.g. "compose message", and then alt-` until the main window pops up. Often times, however, I have to kill Thunderbird and restart it to work with it again...
