Public bug reported:

I am running beta 2 of Ubuntu 11.10 with the updates as of 27th
september. I tried to install kile through the software center, but it
did not work, as there seems to be a problem with the latex packages.

More specifically:
dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten von
/var/cache/apt/archives/texlive-latex-recommended_2009-13_all.deb (--unpack):
defektes Tar-Dateisystem - Paketarchiv ist defekt
which is something like
dpkg: error in
/var/cache/apt/archives/texlive-latex-recommended_2009-13_all.deb (--unpack):
broken tar-filesystem - package archive is broken

Thanks for your help
