Thanks for the feedback. I don't think Unity is actually doing anything particular better or wrong here. It seems to be an Xorg decision to map monitors in a way that doesn't match your expectations (or feels sometimes random, but the algorithm has its own logic). Or a window manager behavior that is reflecting how X sees the world.
Could you test if the situation is different when running the gnome classic session with Compiz? ** Changed in: unity Status: Invalid => Incomplete ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete ** Changed in: unity Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816476 Title: Windows go to wrong desktop and locations during adding of second monitor via xrandr To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/816476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
