Public bug reported: If I have my IRC window full-screen and type more text than fits in a single row of the text input field, the window locks and I need to close all tabs in that window then re-open them to be able to continue chatting. Interestingly: * closing each tab doesn't update the UI so it looks like all tabs are still open until I close the last, then the window disappears. The window title is, however, updated with the new tab's title. * if I press enter after the long string has caused the window to freeze, the string is sent to the channel but I don't see it and it doesn't appear in my chat logs. FWIW, Pidgin handles this overflow nicely by increasing the vertical size of the input field, allowing multi-line entry.
