Public bug reported:

The notification for volume slider that appears when adjusting the
volume using media keys does not display the actual volume, but appears
to be muted (but without the mute symbol, see screenshot). The volume is
adjusted, however, and the slider on the indicator is adjusted as well,
it is only the notification that remains the same.
