Try the setting out, and see for your self. Just open the CompizConfig Settings Manager, open the Desktop Wall plugin, go to the Viewport Switching tab, and set Non Sliding Windows to "(type=Desktop | Notification | Tooltip ) | state=sticky". Now change desktop, and notice how it looks compared to before.
