Hi, I don't think it's a problem actually. Since Sbackup is actually only usable by root, it's been decided that the only on that should be able to have access to the backup snapshot should be him. That's why the backup dir is closed. Then since VFAT doesn't handle permissions well, after you rebooted the mounting options behaviour has been kept.
