I also have this problem after upgrading to 11.04. HP 8540w laptop, Quadro FX 1800M card I'll provide software/driver details if someone points me at a guide for collecting that information.
The problem only occurs when pushing the cursor into the top left corner of the screen (but not every time, maybe a dozen times a day). If the cursor is brought back quickly the red screen disappears, but if it is left for a while then the screen stays red quasi-permanently.
