@Pete, Looks like writes to the embedded controller are locking up, causing timeouts which cause the following errors:
<4>[ 1344.389421] ACPI Exception: AE_TIME, Returned by Handler for [EmbeddedControl] (20110413/evregion-478) <4>[ 1344.389431] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.ISAB.ECDV.ECW1] (Node ffff880156c533c0), AE_TIME (20110413/psparse-536) <4>[ 1344.389442] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\ECWB] (Node ffff880156c53500), AE_TIME (20110413/psparse-536) <4>[ 1344.389451] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\ECG6] (Node ffff880156c53690), AE_TIME (20110413/psparse-536) <4>[ 1344.389459] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.BAT0._BST] (Node ffff880156c4eeb0), AE_TIME (20110413/psparse-536) The _BST method (Battery Status) is one of the failing ACPI methods, which results in battery failed status read which is the root cause of the problem. I suggest we try and work around the problem by either one or both of the following kernel parameters: 1. ec_delay=1000 2. acpi_serialize Please try these and let me know if you see the problem again (and if the AE_TIME error is reported when evaluating \_SB_.BAT0._BST) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844276 Title: AC Adapter State on Dell Latitude XT2 is not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/844276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
