Public bug reported: When I start the player in Oneiric, Beta 1, the Menubar seems to disappear, but in throws a thick black shadow. My impression is, that the player-window is displayed over the menubar, compressed to a height of 1 pixel or so.
The indicator icon appears, but doesn't respond to the "quit"-command. At the same time, the GUI gets increasingly unresponsive until I kill the vlc-thread from tty1 starting vlc --reset-config from the terminal didn't help. This may be a local issue, as my upgrade experience was a bit harsh. Almost everything works now, but I can't be sure if it was vlc or me while upgrading, that caused the error. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch) Release: 11.10 $ apt-cache policy vlc vlc: Installiert: 1.1.11-2build2 Kandidat: 1.1.11-2build2 Versionstabelle: *** 1.1.11-2build2 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: vlc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/848893 Title: VLC starts up but messes up the display and has to be killed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/848893/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
