Public bug reported: I ran update-manager -d to upgrade from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 Beta 1. After all the packages were downloaded, I was prompted to begin the installation. I immediately received the following error pop-up: "Could not install the upgrades. The upgrade has been aborted. Your system could be in an unusable state. A recovery will now run (dpkg -configure -a)." I captured a screenshot of update-manager after I re- attempted to upgrade (with the same errors) that I will attach.
