Public bug reported: I usually prefer my IM application to start automatically in the background at boot time. So i it up in start-up applications in the system preferences using /usr/bin/empathy -h as command line.
Empathy starts fine at boot and connects to various networks. But the status switching via the messaging menu is grayed out, while being still available via the application window itself. The only way to resolve this, is to start empathy manually after the system has finished loading. I also tried without -h which would be the default behavior when starting manually, but that doesn't change the behavior with autostart.
