OK, think "we" might have cracked it. See attached datetime.log, it reported a missing /etc/timezone file. So I created it as root with the content: Europe/London .. and repeated the test, (datetime2.log), however I now have a time being displayed.
Thanks for your assistance! I don't see any way I would have deleted /etc/timezone unless it got deleted when removing some package or other in the past, I certainly haven't deleted it manually at any point. ** Attachment added: "datetime.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/835297/+attachment/2345630/+files/datetime.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/835297 Title: Time not being shown, substituted by the word "Time"" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-datetime/+bug/835297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
