It's constant: I haven't seen the actual time since I upgraded to Oneiric (note: I was on "Ubuntu Classic" before the upgrade so can't comment on whether it worked in Unity before that, but I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if it did as I did try Unity a couple of times).
