Well, I did all that and whaddya know..? printer seems to be running fine. Thanks Pascal.
Not sure that they worked 'out of the box' though. The drivers were not there for the C or CX class epson drivers to start off with on the initial install. I should say at this point that this is a Kubuntu install with an 'apt- get install gnome-desktop-environment' - and have a feeling that this may have something to do with it. I know that both gnome and K both use cups, but could they conflict in some way? Having just checked to see why I feel suspicious - the KDE printer config app STILL does not have the drivers listed. gnome-cups-manager does have them listed and jumps to them immediately as a sort of 'default' option when adding a printer. Maybe this is a kubuntu bug. Should I report it there, or can you forward it? (if that is indeed the case. ** Attachment added: "post driver re-installation printer info.txt" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7527788/post%20driver%20re-installation%20printer%20info.txt -- cups/printer problem stops with error status22 (1028 on resume job) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111038 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
